Trst - Behind The Scenes of Explosiv

With over 7 years of production experience and a multitude of genres in his arsenal, it is clear to see that Trst’s Fidget and Bass House infused sound has been going down a storm across the globe with fans and artists alike as he has also seen support for his music from the likes of Martin Garrix, Tony Romera, Dyro, Sam Feldt, Saint Punk and many more. We sat down with Trst to find out some behind the scenes info about his latest release ‘Explosiv’

Tell us a bit about the inspiration behind this track?

I made this while trying to integrate my new Korg MS-20 into my workflow. I was basically just trying to make a track purely from this synth because I’m not really used to the hardware yet, and Explosiv is the outcome of hours of messing around consolidated into a track.

Which part of ‘Explosiv’ is your favourite?

Probably the second verse; it’s really up there in terms of aggression as I centred the production around the already extremely forward vocals. The vocals really pack a punch and I wanted to highlight that in this section.

Was there a moment when you knew that this was going to be a great track?

Pretty much when I combined a lot of the one-shots, I made to make a cohesive lead melody. It was very disorganized and lacked direction, to begin with so getting to this point was a great moment.

What was the reasoning behind giving this away as a free download?

I really wanted this track to be released ASAP and knew I would have to sit on it for a while if I wanted to go through a label. I want to keep releasing tracks ‘Quikk Lee’ so that everyone can really know what I’m all about.

How would you sum up the track in 3 words?

Modular, Fidget and House

How did you start the production?

Experimenting with my MS-20

What’s your winter schedule looking like?

Playing shows in all of the San Francisco area as well as New York City. Check my socials for more updates!

What else can we expect from Trst in the future?

I do have a couple of upcoming releases on some familiar labels, so make sure to keep an eye out!
